Recently purchased a 2006 C6 and car came from Florida. Bought sight unsen and car arrived and headlight lenses are clouded out from the inside. I'm assuming this is a heat issue, and was wondering if this is a major job to change out the lenses, and where can new ones be found.

Are you sure its not just dirt that has accumulated from condensation? I have not researched it yet but they must have some air vents and would think it is possible to remove the whole headlight assembly out and wash them and dry them. Someone must have done this already.
I never seen just the lenses for sale...just the whole unit and they are not cheap. I've seen were guys have put them in a hot oven to soften the lens seals and pulled them off. That sounds a little tricky.

I have new lens sets available with instructions. PM me.
not that you don't need new lenses, but be advised A) it's a whole unit, B) very expensive per unit. so, before buying anything make sure it really is on the inside of lens and not outside. talk with orig. seller to you re the lens's plural and see if deal can be worked out. since it's an '06, it probably is no longer under warranty, but you might check with Chev dealer local to you.
will send you a pm (private message, see above right corner)

Make sure it's not "humidity" build-up coming from Florida to your location. On the new owners video it tells owners that the headlights lenses can get 'fogged-up' from temp changes, washes, and outside humidity. If that is case then it states to operate headlights and as it warms the inside it will 'clear-up'. I live in a humid enviroment (N. Texas) and have witnessed this once. Just a note because you may not have watched the new owners video. Enjoy and good luck..

My headlights will get some condensation inside the headlights when I wash it, but it quickly goes away. But I can see a slight haze on the inside portion of the lens.
Has anyone tried to wash out the inside of the headlights to get rid of the haze?
I have an idea that I need to try out: Remove the assembly, remove the bulbs or connectors to get better access inside. Wash it out glass cleaner, rinse with mixture of distilled water and denatured alcohol, shake, and blow dry. Perhaps inserting a small hose hooked up to a compressor.

Do you think this will work?
not sure, but I think alcohol is the one ingredient to not use on the lens. thought I read it somewhere quite awhile ago.

I have washed several out. You need to remove the ballast also. I used a mixture of Dawn and Cascade (about a cap full) to a glass of water. I filled the the housing (upside down) up to the point where the lens was completely under water and let soak. I then sloshed the mixture around a lot then poured out then rinsed with clear water, propped up so all the water could run off the lens and let dry.
It worked on all but about 4 lights. Ended up with water spots that I could not get off the inside and ended up putting new lens on. I really don't bother with trying to clean anymore.

Worth a try. When I did it all I accomplished was blowing thousands of little dropplets all over the lens from all parts in between inside the housing. I guess if you blew it long enough you'd get it dry.
I think my water spots were the result of the difference in weather. The first ones I did were in the late winter early spring while the others were in the late spring and summer. May have had something to do with how fast they dried.

What if you blew out the water and dried it with compressed air via a rubber hose? And used a diluted mix of Windex?
