Default flowmaster exhaust vs. Borla

I have an '06 C6 and am considering changing the exhaust. I am dealing with Guldstrand's in Burbank, CA and I know he is the guru of Vettes. He uses Flowmaster exhaust. I like the sound but I recently heard Borla and it blew me away! Does anyone have experience with both systems? What are the pros & cons of each? Cost? Do they really give you better mileage and HP? Any feedback would be great! thanks!

Gains as far as mileage/power are going to be minimal. I would pick a system based off what sound you like best. I agree Borla sounds amazing but $$$. I also hear that Borla's quality is really good too. As a comparison with Flowmaster I would say Borla would be a better choice but Flowmaster sounds good too. Although, I believe Flowmaster is aluminized mild steel and Borla is stainless steel.

The flowmasters I have seen are aluminized, I like flowmasters and have had them on my musclecars and mustangs where they are tucked out of sight, but for my Vette where they are out in the open I think the polished stainless are the only way to go. I have Corsa sports and I think they look good and fuction well, plus they do not drone, which is something you do not want in your nice corvette, muscle car I can deal with it, but I like my vette drone free.

I had the flowmasters and they were less than great. The drone was horrible around 2k rpm and the tips look cheap. I went with corsa and Im much more satisfied.

Thanks for the info! It seems that either system will give about 2% avg more HP & Torque-not sure about mileage gain. Yes, Borla is costly but it sounds amazing!! Thanks again!

Great to know!! I couldn't tell by just sitting in a Vette that ahd them. Which Corsa version do you have? Was it pricey? How much HP & mileage did you gain? It seems that flowmaster is not getting a good response at this time. Borla has a certain sound close to Corsa as well. I've been comparing sounds online.
Thanks!
