Default 2006 oil sensor location

I just ordered the Standard Part ps-308 and decided to replace my oil sensor since it is pegged at 80 on the instrument panel. I got under the car and could not find it even though I looked up the location on the forum which had pictures of a 2007 LS2.
I have the GM Value Guard but of course they do not cover oil sensors even though they know there is a history of them going bad.
Need help. Where the hell is it? Thanks

behind the intake manifold on the driver's side. need to remove the intake to get to it. do a search on here for a oil pressure switch relocation kit one of the forum vendors has.

Thanks, I will do that. I hope it is not a hard job to take out the intake manifold.

OK! Just got through installing the new oil pressure sensor by using the cut hole method posted on the forum (PS-308 from Rock Auto).
Everything went pretty smooth until I started the car to check the pressure. Now the needle jumps up and down around 70 psi at idle and the computer read out jumps gives out incorrect readings. I torqued it at 15 lbs and less and it did not correct the problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've replaced mine twice as water fouled it out both times. Have since fixed that but regarding your sensor. There really isnt much to go wrong installing one. Remove the old, screw in the other and plug it up. That leads me to believe you might have gotten a bad sensor. Try another sensor since you have the hole for easy access. If that doesnt work then start digging deeper.

Thanks. I just ordered another one and will see if that works. I hope it is the part but I doubt it. This one I just replaced is the Brass one and not the Aluminum one that came out. Made in Mexico though just like the original. Even though the hole is there it's still a pain.

Mission Accomplished! I replaced the sensor again and this time I got the 50psi reading and no fluctuations. What a great feeling when you fix something yourself and it works! Thanks to the Forum Members for their input and especially to the guy who came up with the cut hole method. It's the way to go in my book.

Yes.... need to patch or make something to deflect the water. Really simple fix.
