I replaced the steering wheel on my 07 automatic . To get the wheel off I loosened the nut and rocked it from side to side... not agressively but pulled hard on one side then the other. it came off. i had released the wires from their connectors first. After I put it back together the paddle shifters don't shift the trans. nothing on the HUD, the radio controls work, no air bag codes . I removed the airbag and rechecked the connections .. all is tight. I don't use the paddles so it probably has been a while. I don't see where others have had issues with the clockspring while replacing the steering wheel. DS Vettes hasn't heard of any issues either. So I either replace the clockspring for $90 or take it in for diagnosis which if it is the clockspring will cost me more$$. I don't feel any difference between the D mode or S mode. I count the same number of shifts to 60... 5. I don't feel that the transmission is holding the revs higher, or down shifting sooner.
I haven't seen anyone else have an issue with the sport mode though so it is suspicious.
So any suggestions... replace the spring first or roll the dice ? Thanks Kevin

In my car (which is a 1LT) the clockspring controls the paddle shifter, the horn and the airbag and after doing an engine swap I lost the functionality of all three. If you haven't already tried this, check your horn to see if it works but regardless, if you've broken even one of the multiple circuits you'll need a new harness as it's a flat ribbon cable which to my knowledge cannot be repaired.
