i guess my question really was is it seriously overkill for a street car??
i just figure since were swapping the transaxle and the engine i might want to do this at the same time.... but i dont want to turn my car into a rattle trap haha
i like mine but my car has stock heads and cam so its not really noticeable, the only thing i can think of is when the car is cruising along at 1000 RPM there is some harmonic sound from the vibration

yea, im putting in a cammed 416 ci ls3... i will probably notice it more. hmmm
really just not sure, i read in that other thread there were two options on the mount, one more firm than the other. is that true? if so which do you have?

yea then your car is probably going to be shaking alot with the cam. i think that pfadt only has one style but i have heard of some guys putting just one side in and leaving the other side stock, so that it wouldn't shake as much but im not sure how much that would help.
I had the Pfadt engine mounts on my Heads/Cam C5Z for a few months and just couldn't live with the vibe. Constant headaches even after just an hour in the car. At idle the whole car buzzed and rattled, then when you would hit the "drone-zone" at highway speeds, it would amplify the drone into the deepest regions of your brain. They worked very nicely, not knocking the product at all, the car was certainly sharper and more responsive with them, but the trade-off just wasn't worth it for me in a street car. And this coming from somebody that has daily driven with loud exhaust, heads/cam, coilovers, heavy clutch and Sparco seats for years. I love a race cars for street, but these were just one step too far removed from street car for me.

We are working on a new urethane engine mount for the Corvette & GTO. We have some in test cars, and the engine movement control to noise/vibration has been great. Our current test mule is a turbocharged GTO. The customer has been very happy with the performance, and we're working on moving to scale up production. We project these will be available Fall of this year.
