Default oil pressure senser

I have recently noticed wide fluxuations in the oil pressure readings. It will vary from 50lbs to 84.How hard is it to replace the senser if that is the problem. It is a 2005 LS2. Also this car is still on a extended warrenty.Should I dare let Chevrolet fix this?

The labor time guide states 1.4 hours. You have to remove the intake to access the sensor.

Yep, the oil pressure sensor is on the rear of the valley cover under the back of the intake manifold.

I just replaced mine on a 2006 and it is much easier to use the cut hole method. I got the new part which was defective and after getting another one from Rock Auto it was very easy to replace. There is a post on the forum that shows you where the sensor is located and where to cut the hole. If it should go again it will be a 30 minute job.
Good luck.
