My 09 vert developed a new noise over the past weekend which is driving me nuts. It is a "creaking" noise coming from behind me from somewhere in the driver side door or front of rear fender, when I hit a road irregularity (like going over RR tracks or a speed bump) hit a bump, or make a turn. It's like it happens when the chassis flexes. The noise stops if I open the door (don't try this at home kids). Bigger the bump, the louder the noise.
A good friend has also has an 09 (his is a coupe) and he told me he had the same noise develop. He reported that when his dealer couldn't diagnose it, the dealer then checked and found a Technical Service Bulletin on the problem. It was the driver side door latch that needed replacement, taking 2.5 hours to fix - under warranty. Unfortunately, my buddy couldn't give me the TSB number or name.
So, can anyone here help me? I would like to read and site this TSB to the dealer I will be taking my car to. Anybody have a link for TSB's? Anybody know where I can get a look at this TSB?
I couldn't find the actual TSB but I do have this thread with lots of info of the problem, DIY fixes and "a TSB number" in post 45 but can't be sure it's the one you want:
