Electrical Question - Hood light not working
Just bought a 06 - C6 Coupe. Was changing filters and such and noted that the hood light was not working. Was also doing a rear LED brake light replacement and while doing that noticed that a green wire that was taped across the entire rear end of the car behind the tail lights was broken. Didn't think too much about it at the time.
While the car was in the shop they replaced the bulb and it still did not work. Their reply was that many times there is a bad ground and that will cause it not to work. They did not want to spend the time to explore it any further, as they said it could be just about anywhere.
Right away I thought of the broken green wire in the back of the car. That night I took out the tail lights only to find out that the right side of the wire is missing completely. No idea where it goes (towards the right rear of the car) or where it ends. I have a set of Shop Manuals coming in about a week from a fellow member, but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. I hate when stuff doesn't work.
