Is a tune needed, or required if you add longtube headers (With high flow cats)
I want to send my car to ECS to get a S/C put on, and headers but right now I am still trying to still my Charger to be able to afford the mods. I am tired of waiting for some performance, so I was thinking about just doing the headers now, but don't want to spend the money to tune the car twice. Is it required?
Not needed as long as all the O2's are operational. But you won't get the full potential out of them 'til its' tuned.
I installed my own headers/x-pipe and drove around for a week before taking it in for a SC install. Smelled like gas sometimes, and threw an occasional code (that went away after the car was shut off). But it ran just fine 'til I could get it to the shop.

Your air to fuel ratio will be off and within a few days you'll get error codes for your rear o2 sensors
My car ran like crap for a week til i got my tuned. Throttle lag. You will be disappointed in the performance of the car if you dont get it tuned. You will throw oxygen sensor codes....I would rather not have the headers if it wasnt tuned.
