Default Fuel gauge senders replacement time

My '06 C6 has been plagued by the occasional "Service Fuel System" warning (accompanied by the gauge suddenly reading empty), on and off, for the past six months or so.

A 20oz. bottle of Techron used to help, but my car's dirty fuel senders appear to have developed a tolerance, and now it barely has any effect. The condition usually clears on start-up, so I get some use out of the fuel gauge, but this is getting ridiculous.

I've seen two DTCs during this period: P2066 (secondary tank fuel level changing less than 3L over 200mi) and P2068 (secondary tank fuel level signal greater than 4.5V).

My plan is to change both fuel level modules, and anything else that ought to be changed while I've got the tanks out (filters?). Here are my questions to those who've been there before:
      Thanks.

The dealer has a computer flash that may help. I've heard the tank is a bear to get out.
