I'm taking a risk at being trashed for what some might consider a juvenile modification. I have purchased orange lug nuts to put on my Atomic Orange vert. I have aftermarket OE brand Z06 style black wheels on my orange car and thought it might be a great theme to carry on the black and orange.
I purchased Muteki forged (1008SL) chrome orange closed nuts in size M12xP1.50. These were the size the company stated I need for a corvette. They are a 60 degree taper seat. They are considered a compact nut and just 36 grams each.
They look great but my concern is the size. They are notably smaller looking. The beefy looking OEM's covered (overlapped) more of the wheel hole than the new ones. Should I be concerned?

Nah I don't think there is cause for concern in regards to the size difference though some might argue that those ultra lightweight lugs are not as strong as OEM and could let go under extreme stress (extreme weather conditions?) but I think even that is highly unlikely.
Does the tapered end completely fill the seat in the wheel? If not then don't use them. If they don't cover the lug seat in the wheel you could put too much force on a smaller spot of the wheel and cause damage to the wheel.
Yes they fill or cover the tapered part of the wheel. They just dont cover any extra of the flat surface outside the taper like the OEM size did. Is filling the tapered area of the wheel enough surface area?

yes, torque them to 100lbs and check them every 10 miles for the first 50, after that check at 500 miles, and then once and a whilejust be safe
