tires
How are these tires for - wear, wet, cold weather etc.
Pro's/con's and sizes used with stock rims.
They work very well all around.
We do Autox and HPDE on these tires.
(And we do quite well too).
I have 18x10 front rims, and 19x11 rears (LG World Challenge Wheels).
In the rain... on the highway... stick to the speed limit.
In the rain... on the track.... be judicious in the application of the "go" pedal.
On merely wet pavement, they really work well.
On dry pavement... go for it !!!!
As to mileage.... they do only have a treadwear rating of 100,
so we don't expect 10 or 15 thousand miles.
But if we can get 2 to 4 thousand miles, that's more than I could wish for.
Realize we are used to buying 1 or 2 sets of tires each year for our "fun",
so to get one set to last more than 1 year is a great bonus as far as we are concerned.
We don't drive the car in the cold weather, so I can't speak about that.
It is a purpose-car... cruising (or we use the 1967 black convert for that),
or Autox or HPDE.
So the Toyo R888 are a very good all-round performance tire, yet are NOT
the ultimate for specific performance.
Note we too have a triple black convert C6, and a triple black convert (1967).
(I refuse to use the term C2 for the 1967, because the "C" designations didn't
start to be used until the C5.... in 1967 there was no C1, C2, etc.,
so to use them now is blasphemous)
