No. By the way how do you know the manual gauge is accurate? If it hasn't been calibrated using a reference standard there is no way to know the gauge is accurate. Expensive gauges are no more accurate than cheap gauges. One of the many cases where you don't get what you pay for.
If the engine's barometric pressure sensor is inaccurate you would get errors in the tire pressure readings.
The TPM system uses barometric pressure information in order to determine how to compensate tire pressure readings for different altitudes. The receiver requests the information from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when the ignition is first turned to ON. If the receiver is unable to receive the information from the PCM, the receiver will substitute a default value and no compensation will occur.
Thanks for the response. I wasn't implying that my gauge was accurate and certainly has not been verified against a reference standard (as a clinical chemist, I thoroughly understand the concept).
I was just curious if the Corvette TPM's are capable of being recalibrated... Many of the posts here discuss "recalibration of the TPMS" (when in fact they are just re-registering them), but I found no information to indicate that the Corvette TPM's were in fact capable of recalibration... I have come across several devices that claim they are capable of actually recalibrating TPM's, though not specifically those on the Corvette...
