I posted this over the audio forum yesterday and haven't gotten any replies yet, so in my impatience I figured I'd ask here.
I have a 2005 1sb car with bose. I was wondering if anyone knew, or has tried a 2008+ base (single disc) or 6 disc changer with the aux input in a 2005 (or any older model year, really). All I'm after is an aux input, and this would more than exceed my needs if it turns out it would work.
So my main questions are: will the 1 disc changer work with bose? and will the 2008+ 1disc or 6disc head units work in an older car and let you keep the aux function.
If it's the same as my '07 with bose, it won't work. The radio would need low level preouts, the '08+ non-bose 1 disc unit has speaker level outs only. I guess you could use line output converters but it'd sound like garbage. Just buy a nice 2DIN aftermarket radio.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. What about a 2008 or newer bose non nav unit?
I'd just like to stick to oem if possible, and if no one else has tried it, or if there is no reason that it shouldn't work I may just have to try it.
I will probably get a radio similar to the one you suggested otherwise.
