Default Bumper Valence Panels

I just bought a 2010 Grand Sport Convertible Corvette. In the trunk was a package. It was Bumper Valence Panels that apparently attach below the front bumper in front of the tire area. Does anyone know what these are; what they do; and if I should install them???? It appears that I just use the supplied fasteners(that just screw in) and attach the molded plastic panels in the holes provided underneath. It also attaches to the center rubber piece which hangs down from the frame.(This also uses just one screw on each end to attach the rubber center piece to the plastic molding). Please help me to understand what to do with these panels. Thanks for your help and assistance. Dennis

Air dam and the dealer should have installed them.

What will the "air dam" do to the vehicle?

Thanks for the explanation. I'll make sure the dealer installs them. Thanks again.
