Today I was flushing out my old Clutch FLUID and I realized how small the reservoir is............"SO DARN ANNOYING HOW IT GETS SO DIRTY SO FAST!" I had a WILWOOD RESERVOIR SITTING AROUND AT THE SHOP SO I USED IT.....It doesnt have to be a WILWOOD Reservoir you can find something similar at AutoZone or PEP BOYS. But I think overall it is a very cheap and simple install that will def keep the Fluid COOLER and wont have a need to replace as quicker. P.S HOLDS 3 & 1/2 times the fluid!

HERE IS A PIC OF IT INSTALLED ON THE CAR.

Would be cool if it came with the little thingy (?) that attaches to the car.

Curious for the part number ...

What little thingy ?

As I said above I had a wilwood reservoir sitting at the shop from my 67 Camaro Ls2 Project so I used it, although if you would like to purchase the same exact kit you can GOOGLE P/N 260-8742 or go to www.jegs.com and type in this P/N 260-8742.

All it really requires are pliers to remove the reservoir clamp, flat head screw driver to tighten the new clamps, 13mm wrench to remove the reservoir bracket and a electric drill to make a whole on the bracket to mount the new RESERVOIR. I can post pics if this is not clear for you guys

It's not clear whether the new resevoir has the same size nipple at the bottom as the original. Please clarify.

That answers my question about the "thingy" (which is a way of saying I don't know what it's called but you use it to fasten the reservoir )

If you buy the wilwood reservoir kit it comes with the nipple that fits the FACTORY GM HOSE

^ I SEE! You can make a hole on the bracket and use a 10 mm Nut and Bolt to tighten it down. You can purchase this from any OSH or HOME DEPOT......SIMPLE!

I agree and thought of doing something like this awhile back. The stock resivour is WAY to small and the fluid capacity (lack of) directly contributes to the fluid becoming contaminated quickly. That Wilwood holds almost 11 oz.!

Outstanding job of figuring this out.

Tomiboy: The best DOT 4 Brake Fluid you can find.

Satans csex: Having just purchased Wilwood Kit Part # 260-8742, I can say with certitude that it is NOT the kit that you installed. Kit 260-8742 is a larger unit and will not fit into the space provided (I tried)! Upon checking the Wilwood website AND comparing the reservoir you have pictured with all of theirs...you installed kit # 260-11098, of which the reservoir is a 7 oz. unit with a 1/4 inch fitting. Their kit # 260-11098 costs $20.93, plus shipping, about 1/3 the cost of kit 260-8742. Thanks!
