Service AH/TC and Reduced Engine Power came on again this week.
I took my 05 to dealership and they are telling me that they see code P2176 which is to clean the throttle body.
I explained that the throttle body was replaced 12,0000 miles ago for the same problem and they are not open to the idea that there is a bigger issue at hand.
In addition to the throttle body being replaced, the car has been in another 6 or 7 times for the same problem. They have replaced the ECU, throttle body, brake sensors in the wheel and accelerator pedal. 2 weeks ago, they performed the recall for the clip in the steering column and the service AH/TC came on again 1 week later.
I called GM customer service and they are telling me that cleaning the throttle body is a maintenance item and nothing can be done. They are also not recognizing the bigger issue at hand so I am waiting to speak to their supervisor.
How often should a throttle body need replacement? This car is not raced... I put on about 4K miles per year.
Don't have an answer for you, just offering that some others are going through similar issues. Here's a recent thread. Best of luck to get it figured out.

DTC P2176 isn't a reminder to clean the throttle body - it's set when the computer orders the throttle plate to rotate to position X but the feedback from the TB reveals it's at position Y.
It can be caused by binding, but it can also be caused by any number of poor electrical connections.
If it's binding, they should be able to confirm that by a quick inspection.
