Default Proper Header Advice

hey guys whats going on? I needed some advice as I have not been able to find much online.

I have a 2005 Vette and it is my d.d. but i wanted to install headers and get it tuned. I have a magnaflow exhaust and halltech intake on so far and wanted to complete the intake and exhaust deal. However, I'm not looking for anything extreme that would fail the emissions test, but mainly something reliable and consistent in power.

Three things I want:

Reliabilty
Quality
Performance

Cost is an issue, but I rather pay more and have less headache in the long run.

I appreciate any input, thanks!

Default Which header

Buy quality and you will never regret it. LG offers two models in 1 3/4" tubes. The Pro and the street. Call and ask them which one would best fit your needs. Kooks and American are two other quality units. All of them will give you a significant boost in power when combined with a good tune. Good luck.

Ok nice, so I should look for 1 3/4" and not the 7/8" ??

What type of tuner would you use? I see a lot of Diablo one's from SLP, but I thought you could only use that with SLP Headers.

Well it depends on your goals. Personally I have not been hurt by going to a bigger primary but there are those who have maybe seen different? But if all your going to do is headers and not a cam and heads later on then the 1 3/4 should be fine.

I haven't seen any posts on the forum about Hooker Headers for the Corvette. Are they considered trash?

You can't legally pass inspection with any headers. There are none that are CARB approved due to the relocation and substitution of the catalytic convertors.

All you can do is hope the Inspector believes in the "Don't ask, don't tell".

Ok well do.

So after everyone's comments, which i thank for, its b/w Kooks, LG and ARH.

I like the Kooks and LG a bit more and am leaning more towards the Kooks complete header system which includes high flow cats for arnd 1945.00.

Does anyone in the Houston/Sugar Land area know where I can possible go look at these or get them installed properly?
