HUD Projector Blocked

I have an 05 Coupe and the HUD has not quit working but it appears to have a bar across the display. You can see a minimal amount of projection. Is the HUD removable without removing the dash and has any one had a similar problem?

Sorry I don't know anything about your problem. I do know that you can search and find instructions for installing a HUD unit in a C6 that didn't come from the factory with it. I read these once, and recall that actual removal of the dash was nor required, but it did make the project easier.

The HUD's do go bad so don't fret about having something unusual. And yes, you "can" get it out and replace it without removing the dash. Take a look at this thread with pics of what you do have to get into to see if you want to take it on and there is a link to the original instructions at the bottom of the first post. Be aware that if you have a dealer replace it the only way they know how to do it is to remove the dash.....for big $$$. If it looks like more than you want to attempt yourself, ask around to see if there is a Forum member near you who can help. Good luck.
