Default 402 ls2 stroker questions

Hey everyone, very shortly I will be going with a 402 stroker motor for my car and just have a few questions from people running similar setups. My car is a 2006 c6 with a few modifications: kooks 1 3/4'' LT w/high flow cats, ported stock heads w/ a matching cam(cam will be changed for the new motor), Ported Fast Manifold with 90mm tb, Vararam, spec stage 3+ clutch, Built RPM Trans, hardened outputshaft and other small things.(460+rwhp/440+rwtq)
First off, what is everyone running for fuel systems? Is the stock injectors and pump ok for a n/a setup? I have no plans of going forced induction or spraying the car in the future so the power will likely never be pushed more than this last setup.
Secondly, what size cam are owners running and any drive ability issues? I know it's all in the tune but just would like to get an idea what to expect.
Lastly what kind of numbers? Not so much worried about the dyno numbers as I am about 1/4 mile times. I see tons of info with forced induction setups but not so much on stroker cars so hopefully there are a few out that can chime in. I've used the search button but not much info popping up. My goal for the car is 10s at 130+ which I feel is pretty reasonable...

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Just built a motor very similar to your set up other than going 10 over making mine a 406. I went with a Bullet cam. The car is over 400 ftlbs at 4,000 and 390 hp. Thats as far as we have taken it so far. The tranny let loose so time to take care of that and rear end... My car went high 10's before this build with spray. That was in Arizona, now Its in NM at 5,000 feet and I don't think this set up will do that here w/o spray. Maybe 11's....

Thanks for the reply, what heads were you running with the car? Also is your motor setup specifically for spray? Did you beef up your fuel system?

I can't remember what injectors we used. Stock heads nothing beefed up per say. When we pulled the motor down, noting was really hurt other than the hardening gone on the cam. Keep us posted as you get it rolling.

will do, the build should be underway next week. Seems like not too many C6 owners do n/a stroker builds...

I am doing the 403ci stroker as well on mine. Had the camshaft bolts break and pistons kissed valves so i am starting from the bottom up forged internals and all.

I plan to do road racing and not drag so peak numbers aren't as big for me as power under the curve.

I went with a 234/238 114+2 .600 lift cam that i custom ordered from Patrick G from LS1Tech.

Heads are TEA stage 2 CNC work that will be done to my LS2 heads i sent to them.

I have been wondering about the injectors and fuel system myself as well. Going with a C5R timing chain since its all off and an ATI 10% pulley since i hear they are the best. Ill be curious how both of our builds go. My car parts are around the country so i am a good few weeks out, hopefully have it back by first week Dec i am crossing fingers.

hey lemans,
I think I was posting in your thread before, sorry did not respond but my build is done and have clocked around 1100 miles on the motor so far. Runs great and will be getting the final dyno numbers next week with a final tune as well. I went with a 412 ci with already worked Cartek stage 2x heads, ported FAST, 240/248 w/ a 114 lsa cam(idles great) and full bolts on.. The only thing I haven't opted to do is an underdrive pulley or Electronic Water Pump which I'm still up in the air on. I wanted a pump gas all motor car that will go 10's at 130+ that I can daily drive, and as long as I can cut a decent 60 foot should be there no problem. Could have went with a beefier cam but same as you looking for more power under curve numbers than peak and this is what my tuner suggested. What I can tell you is and I know a lot of people live by this, "it's all in the tune." The car made 500 rwhp+/475+ rwtq on the dyno while I was still breaking in the motor with a very very very safe tune and a buttload of timing left to add so confident the car will make 520+rwhp/500+rwtq come next week. I'm on stock injectors, stock fuel pump, pump gas 93 yada yada. My tuner told me I'll be safe under the 600rwhp mark all motor but if I put the bottle on (100-150shot) I will need to address the fuel system which I really do not want to do because I'm not sure I want to spend the coin and a little scared my Spec 3+ clutch will not like the extra torque. I do have some video clips of the car idling on my youtube page(search for the name: bbq52686) Would like to start up a thread for all motor builds and see what other members are working with. I see blower builds pop up left and right but not too many stroker cars so always nice to see something different. The sound really is an amazing quality from a nicely cammed stroker car and can't get enough of the "rocking you to sleep shake at idle." The GF made a comment the other day about that saying "is it supposed to dance back and forth like that?" Even non car-enthusiasts stop me asking questions about it. Good luck on your build, hope you make some nice power and keep us all updated!

Good cam choice! I am on the fence for that one or his larger one. Please post up your results when you get it done. Also, if you are able, post the TEA flow chart when you get it. That's going to be a great build man.

Added something to my build. Going with the FAST102 Ported and a NW102mm TB and the CF112 Halltech SuperBee Intake.

Just can't wait to get it back.
