What do you have done for mods? Factory tune to dyno tune on my car stock yielded 0 rwhp, even though the factory tune was rich.(Bone stock)
But if you have mods such as headers and a cold air intake, you should be able to pick up some power from a dyno tune.

I have always had good luck with gaining power from tuning LS motors. I believe a stock LS7 gains about 20rwhp when going from the stock tune to a dyno tune. But, I would save the money on tuning if you ever plan to mod your car and do the tune one time after mods instead of once before and once after.

Member and local to me on here "zoomZ" has a c6 Z and he had it dyno tuned by mike norris. All he had was a killer be intake and he picked up 52rwhp! To the above member..If a dyno tune didnt pick up any horsepower from your stock rich tune you need to find another tuner!!!

I just picked up a 2008 coupe with the LS3 motor. Took it for a dyno tune soon as I could. Mostly to alter the shift points of the A6 transmission. The factory tune was way too rich and timing retarded. In the process the tuner extracted 12 more rwh and 14 more ft/lb of rwtorque. Not much but the car is stock. It's like driving a whole different car just due to transmission tweaking. I was happy with the result. If you plan on modifying the car though I would do the dyno tune after your modifications for the most bang for the buck.

As was mentioned on a stock Z, a tuned car should increase 20whp. If you are going to do a tune, at least add an intake. The best bang for your buck on a Z will be an intake and tune. I have seen 3 seperate dyno graphs on Z's with the Vette Air scoop, the Killer Bee II, and tune....2 put down high 480whp and the 3rd was low 490's...all within 5whp or so of each other....pretty stout....
