Default Diablo Tuner question for 06 c6

Hey guys,

I tried searching for some threads related to this but found nothing direct...

I have a predator tuner for my 2006 C6. I'm familiar how to hook it up correctly etc. When plugged in to the car and booted up i eventually get to an option of a 435HP 465HP and 500HP tune. My car has many mods including ram air w/ hood, corsia exhaust, 160 deg thermostat and I'm curious which is the correct tune to select? Additionally, I would like to know if these are preloaded tunes from the company of custom tunes that were added.

Maybe i can get some solid feedback on this? Id really appreciate some wisdom.

Thanks to all in advance!!

They seriously advertise that you can gain ~75HP with a handheld. Whoever is in charge of their marketing should get a raise if they have people believing that BS.

Here is my advise.... Take that handheld and either get a refund immediately or use it as a paperweight, since those ar ethe only 2 things it is good for. I would then take the money you paid for it and actually go to a reputable tuner that actually uses a dyno and a laptop to optimize your tune for your specific climate and conditions. The handhelds are a "cookie cutter" tune that will give you nowhere near the gains or safety built into an actual dyno tune.

With you already having a few mods done to the car, I would want to see some actual results, not just dump a mail order tune in it.

I also have an 06 and a predator. I don't get a screen with HP choices. I would check with Diablo directly or pm Monty SS on this forum on how to proceed . I can tell you that I used the modify option on the Diablo tune and I am satisfied with the results . Reading and reseting codes is a nice feature as well. Good luck .

Someone has loaded your Predator with custom tunes. The only original tune options in it were 91 and 93 octane performance tunes.
Contact the place/person you bought it from and find out the details.

this looks like it might by a SLP Predator, based on the horsepower designations. I think that they sell them packaged with there performance upgrades. You should be able to tell by the serial number and/or contacting SLP or Diablosport. I wouldn't install any tune until I was clear on what tuner I had.

Thanks for all of the information....I truly appreciate all of it.

I actually called SLP today. They are very helpful over the phone. They set they indeed were preset tunes specific to my upgrades done to the car. I can pretty much forget about the 500hp tune as the tune is specific to a car with cams, and headers. over the phone the rep told me i can safely run the 435hp and 465hp tune. depending on the quality of gas in my area i will see various results. he said try both and see what i like. the 435 might work better. I'm sure relative humidity plays a factor as well. I'm more concerned with longevity of the engine, so im gonna stick with the 435 tune. The thing is fast enough!!!
