Default When To Change Spark Plugs?

I have an 05 (A4) with a Cartek Tune, and Vararam intake... I drag race it about twice a month.. last time out the car was pretty consistent...

....BUT I don't want to wait until I start having performance problems....the car now has 21,000 miles on it with the OEM plugs..

I had planned on using OEM plugs again as the car "DID" run 12.08 @ 115 with only the tune & CAI..

Am I due for a change now... They don't look bad nice tan color ....I have about 4-5 more race dates, and I'm in 6th place with a chance to go as high as 3 or with a LOT of luck #2 place....

I'm the type of person that, if I'm going to go to the trouble of pulling the plugs, I'll go ahead and replace them with new ones. If you don't replace them now, are you going to pull the plugs in another 5,000 miles and, then, after another 5,000 do it again, checking to see if they need replacing?. Each time you pull a plug, you take a chance of stripping the threads, ruining the plug boot, etc. Pull the plugs, put new ones in and don't worry about them for another 21,000 miles.

Everyone is different. Some say every 50,000, 25,000, 15,000, ect. If you have to pull them out, I would just put new ones in unless they are fairly new. Otherwise I would change them once a year or so as part of your normal maintenance. Either way you decide to go, I'm sure they will be fine unless you see something obviously wrong with them. The factory platinum plugs actually last quite a while.

Thanks guys.. seeing as I just pulled 2 and they look great, I'm going to finish out this racing season (Nov 6) it ends... Then I will still leave these plugs in until March when the new racing season starts, and start next yr w/new plugs.. seeing as the ones I now am using look pretty good...

appreciate the feedbakc...
