You just need to re-index the window.

To reinitialize a power window:
Get in the car
Close the door for the window being reinitialized.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Run the window to the full up position and hold the switch continuously for an additional 2-3 seconds after the window has reached the top.
Run the window to the full down position and hold the switch continuously for an additional 2-3 seconds after the window reaches the bottom.

The window index function should now work. Test it by getting out of the car with the window rolled up and see if it fixed it.

Hmmmm......never seen the procedure described that way. I don't want to contradict Richie but, FWIW, this is the procedure from the owner's manual that has been followed by many:

Get in
Close the doors
Raise the windows all the way and HOLD the switches UP for 3 full secs
Release the switches then raise and HOLD them again for 3 secs
Done

I'd be interested to hear if Richie's procedure works too.

The only difference between Richie's method and yours is he has the electrical power on so it will work. Can't move the windows with the power off.

Well, he said to run the windows "down" and hold the switches. I've never seen that version, the rolling them down. That's what I was commenting on.

I agree, you need to reindex in both the up and down position.

I once had a problem with my windows when all the way down still protruded above the door trim.

My fear was that something would hit the edge of the glass and shatter it.

I reindexed up and down until the glass was below the trim when in the down position.

So it is a good input by RichyRichZ06.

I took that procedure directly from the Service Information section of GM Dealerworld.

No problem man. If you need any dealer related info in the future, feel free to PM or call. We see a lot of stuff on these cars and work on dozens a month.
