Default Driver side door controls are dead help!

I have been having this problem off and on for about a year now. Sometimes while driving my 05 vert. the yellow security light on the left side of the instrument cluster comes on (the one that looks half like a lock and half like a car). When it does all my drivers door controls go dead. The power windows, door lock, and mirrors. The button to open the door still works but I have to use the unlock on the passenger door.

It sometimes only happens once a month and lasts for a day, but a few times it has lasted up to 3 weeks. Thats a long time to have your driver window stuck in the down position. if the window is up when the light comes on I can get it to go down by unlatching the convertible top. I can raise and lower the passenger window with the passenger side switch.

The last few times the controls went dead the light didn't come on right away, it took about an hour or so and then the yellow sec light comes on. I started a new job today an hour from my house and my window is stuck halfway down and its pouring rain WTF. Anyone with a convertible knows that without rainguards on the roof when the window is open the rain drains straight in and the wiper sweeps it right down your left leg.

Has anyone experienced this? any suggestions I have tried everything I can think of.

Well, that's the Theft Deterrent System. According to the owner's manual if that light stays on when the engine is running the car needs service. Check page 2-18 of your owner's manual. Also see Immobilizer on page 2-20. Really sounds like you need a trip to the dealer.

Update:

Everything started working again the day it stopped raining I guess that is my luck.

I also forgot to mention that I also randomly get:

Service fuel system (gauge goes to E) a fill up usually fixes it

Service active handling system

check gas cap (replaced cap didn't make a difference)

air bag light comes on

GPS will not show any roads for several minutes sometimes an entire day, it will also sometimes completely shut off and restart at the Corvette banner, this usually happens when calculating route.

Cigarette socket stops working for a day or so. (checked and cleaned connection and applied dielectric grease.

Once in a great while I get Service column lock and I have to get out walk away from the car then get back in and all is well.

I am convinced it is a bad ground somewhere.

Can anyone tell me where all of the ground points are????

hi
the other day I was messing with the opional setting on my vette, and the driver side door would not unlock, so I reset the setting in options and the door works again.
