I have had my 07 case c6 for about a ear and am looking to do some mild suspension upgrades to improve handling but I dont want to lose the drivabilty (no lowering or buckboard type ride), anybody who has done this please tell me your thoughts and suggestions, thanks.
best $500 you can spend on a base model! bilstein sports and Z51 sway bars! don't care what the arm chair engineers say!
A great place to start. Put your C6 through it's paces & decide if you like the results and then get rid of the GY run flats. You'll have a different/better performing vehicle.
I went with the Koni FSD shocks and the Z51 bars and got rid of the runflats for my Base 08. Greatly improved the ride and noise. I felt the front end of the Base was a little to bouncy for me, the FSD's did the trick. You could save some $$ by going with Bilstein shocks, other Forum have given them good reviews too. The FSD's are around $700 while the Bilstein are $300. Do a search of the design of both and decide.
I put on the Eibach/Callaway sway bars (rear are adjustable) from Tire Rack and the Bilstein Doug Ripple Motorsports special shocks. I am tracking my car and love the difference this has made. But it is still fine on the road (well most roads, not many here in Miami)
Has anyone installed the GM T1 anti sway-bars or compared them to the Z51
MUCH thicker bar, they will be pretty stiff for the street, but some have run them. I went with the thickest tunnel plate, phaft ploy bushings, and I have Z51 option already. Noticable improvement over Z51 setup, Shocks are next...
I guess you are right I didnt say what my goals are for my car, mainly I want to enjoy driving the car under all conditions, I might try an autocross in the future or go to track day or driving school, I dont intend to turn this thing into a race car I usualy drive it to work once or twice a week and all weekend. I went on a trip to the tail of the dragon early this year with some other vette guys and had a blast, so I guess I want a slightly better than stock driving car that I can still drive everyday, later on I will do some engine tuning down the road but not right now, well I hopethat helps, thanks.
I installed the Z51 bars over the weekend and I have to say this was a great mod, it was everything you guys said it would be, thanks for all the suggestions and thanks to Gene Culley, the car feels like a sports car now I will be tackling the shocks next thanks a lot
