Default Exhaust upgrade?

I am thinking about a new cat back system for my 07 Vert? I would like to hear the engine a little more, the stock system is soooooo quiet. I dont want to blow my ear drums, just want to get a little more of an aggressive rumble, without an annoying drone. Any suggestions?

I am doing american Racing headers, catted x-pipe, a tune, and keeping the stock mufflers. my car is a convertible and I did not want to go too loud. I was told this would add nice persormance over stock and a subtle difference in db's. I would not mind hearing what people have to say either.

The girlfriend thinks I am nuts and to her, it is only noise. To us, it is music!! Here is where I am getting it done.... http://www.hpsalesflorida.com/Specials.html. they do the headers, cats, wires, plugs, tune. all for $2,200.00, and come with very high references.

No such animal. Deep rumble comes with drone. Have to do Corsa to avoid drone.

I went with Billy Boat FUSION system with crossover. This aftermarket NPP offers the best of both worlds, quiet or loud, with a touch of a button. Total cost about $2300.00

A second vote for the B&B fusions. Perfect C6 exhaust in my opinon. With the valves closed, it is just a little louder than stock. When they are open, it has a deep muscle car sound. They have a much better tone than the Corsa Sports that I had on the car before. The Corsas really did have "zero" drone, but that was about it.

I got my system from Corvettes of Houston, which had a great price: http://www.corvettesofhouston.com/pr...roducts_id=446

The Fusions came with the Mild to Wild wireless controller, remotes, vacuum control system, etc. for that price. It is the best of both worlds, really. I was going to do a factory NPP bi-mode system, but realized the quiet mode was just going to be too quiet and never be used. Plus, the B&B system is all stainless and much nicer than the GM stuff.

I went with LG longtubes, Z06 bi-mode mufflers (with muffler mod) and the NPP in a box controller. Nearly stock when closed and very loud when open. I spent $1750 for everything. Bear in mind an exhaust alone won't add any power (maybe 2-3 at best), just sound. I can't justify large amounts of money for just sound.

I've always been very picky about how my cars sound and have been known to change mufflers until I was happy with the tone. For me, selling the Corsa Sports that came on my car for $750 and buying a complete Fusion system w/ M2W for $1500 was well worth it.

Save a few $$ and do an axle back, you'll save the hundreds of
$$ a new mid pipe costs.

Your best bet is an NPP or Z06 axle back with an exhaust controller.

I'd agree if you're just looking for a more aggressive sound (at the touch of a button).

This system has really caught my eye... Once I see (hear) one in the real world, it might have to be mine!

there was a company on here that setup the system to switch by pressing the reset button on your DIC, suncoast creations for something

Suset Orange Creations is the company name you are looking for. He offers more choices of types of exhaust controllers than anybody.

I agree on the fusions. I have 1 7/8 headers and x-pipe and the fusions sound perfect with them. Slightly louder than stock closed and loud without being obnoxious open. They also have a really nice exotic tone to them when open and under acceleration. Well worth $15xx. I just placed an order for a 2nd set.

Another BB Fusion vote here. Pricey but worth every penny. I have factory NPP with M2W and it's not nearly loud enough for my taste, even in the open mode. In closed mode it's "Cadillac Quiet". There's nothing I hate more than a whisper-quiet Corvette!!! Might as well be driving a Prius!!!

I'll be ordering my BB Fusion within the next 2 months.

The retrofit system supplied by B&B is the Mild 2 Wild wireless system sold by Nakid Parts on this forum. It comes with 2 small remotes to control the exhaust.

I keep one on my key chain and the other is just double-sided taped to my dash under my start button for easy access while driving. I originally wanted to do the DIC button-controlled system that I believe is sold by Sunset Orange Creations, but I got this system with the exhaust and I'm happy with it.

FWIW, I added a one-way vacuum valve off a Turbo Audi to my vacuum control system. The B&B kit comes with a nicely integrated vacuum ball canister, but I found the flaps would open on their own after manifold vacuum dropped for more than a few seconds. I wanted full control and the ability to keep the car quiet under any condition.

With the check valve and vacuum ball, I can close the flaps, turn the engine off, and open and close them 5+ times without any manifold vacuum present. I can fire up my car after it has been parked for a week+ and the flaps will still be closed. This is nice if you live in a quiet area. Most cars would start in the loud mode and take a few seconds to get vacuum to the rear to shut the valves.
