If you use the red crimp connectors, make sure they are properly installed before you button it up. Otherwise you will be opening it up agan.
The cut the duct method is the easiest way to get this done. I did mine over a year ago and you would never know the difference.

Remove the instrument panel (~15 minutes) cut the upper HVAC duct with a hacksaw blade (~30 minutes), installed the projector(~30 minutes), taped the hvac duct back in place, wire the components and reinstall the instrument panel. The cut the duct method gets the installation time down to about 2-1/2 hours. The hvac duct is shown on page 33 of the instructions. The steering wheel does not have to be removed. There is plenty of room if you are careful. If you have common hand tools you can do this mod. Study the instructions. THe more you study the instructions the more confident you will be.

It's done

pulled dash

cut duct seems smarter

this info needs to be more common

No worries on an air duct

wiring was simple, x6 solder connections
