parts department at dealer says new headlights come with finished wire harness (no splicing) but new headlight assemblies being sold on Ebay show loose wire ends on their harness...What should it be and does anyone have pic of this harness how it should be...being very careful I do not get scammed...Dealer wants just under $1K each and Ebay is going for Just over $1K for both...Your help is appreciated
I'd be suspicious since, as far as I know, *no* electrical parts for the car come from GM with bare wires. They all use unique connectors. From the factory service manual on replacing the headlamps "Disconnect the electrical connector"...
I just took a look on the auction site and I don't see any loose wire ends on the offered headlamps.

I still don't see them. You can PM me the link if you want. Real GM parts come with connectors on the wiring. If they have been cut then something isn't right.

AHHH! I saw that but I wasn't scrolling down to see the other pics
Something is not right. I have 0.1% doubt that the original GM parts come with the connectors attached. You're going to have an issue connecting those up correctly without them (unless you hack the connection together. I know that *I* would want them going through the proper connectors.)
You need two connectors on each headlamp - the high beam and the low beam. In theory the parts are available from Mouser.com so if you're brave and are decent with connectors and such, you could always get the pieces and construct your own to save a nice chunk of change.
Another thing to note - you don't say what year your car is but early production 2006 cars used a different connector on the low beam side. Having the service manuals becomes almsot a necessity for stuff like this.

The lights from the factory have about a 16" wiring harness. It plugs into the bottom of the light housing and then plugs into the main front wiring harness of the car. If there are loose bare wires they have been cut.
The lights I posted about in your other thread have the stock harness as from the factory.
