I was planning to Track my M6 LS2. I got the RWHP, Tires & Wheels and
have the frustration of having to replace the Clutch assy. I did all the Ranger stuff, pulled the return Spring out and a few other things. I thought I had the ls7 Clutch in there because the Car is a 07 but learned
that in late 07 they put the ls7 clutch in and made it the replacement
part. I have been watching the Forum and see the LS9 Clutch assy with
a Fidanza Flyweheel will handle 800 RWHP and drive like a kitten.
Have any of you guys tried it or will the steel FW be better. Would $1,000
be a reasonable price from a Pro shop. Katech has the Kit with the slave Cyl all bolts etc with the AL Flywheel. Are there any better alternatives
? Thanks for your help. Leon

I have the ZR1 with the LPE flywheel. Still 5 pounds lighter than stock but not as light as the Fidanza. My installer said get the LPE billet steel.
I love it! Much more solid. Pulling the return spring is not a good idea !
IMO!

No I was not expecting all the parts & Labor for $1,000. Just the labor
portion . I do not have Facility to change it out. I have 507 RWHP/ 461 rwtq and 555 r2 Tires. The Clutch does not slip but sticks to the Floor by the time I go for 4th. With the 4.10 Diff it revs up fast and spins the wheels in 3rd. I like the idea of less rotating mass. The Slave CYL should
be included. Sorry I was not clear on the pricing.

I would do the LS9x with the aluminum flywheel. You will like it and you would never know it has a dual disk until you want to rip off good sixty foot times. I have one in our cammed Z06 and I can consistantly run 1.5x short times on DR's, then drive home with it feeling like stock. Anyone that tells you the alum flywheel drives worse then stock is full of it. The reduced weight makes the car smoother and the less rotating mass will rev more freely. We have installed the Katech kit in over a dozen vehicles and every single person had nothing but good things to say about it.
I am offering the entire Katech kit shipped for $1,425 right now. It is complete all the way down to the bolts and a bottle of Dot 4 fluid. PM if you are interested.

Been on mine for 6 months now. Drove the car today and consciously thought to myself how great the clutch feel is. Very glad I did it.
I would Look at RPS, there was a forum vendor offering some very nice pricing recently.
Leon,
This is what Spin is using...he used many and this is what he is most happy with....factory smooth and it's doing fine for his power level, which was about 650 RWHP with his Paxton and he also has a 150 shot on top of that. Reach out to him...I'll keep my eyes open at SEMA to see if there is anything new and improved for you and get back to you when I return.
McLeod RXT twin with aluminum flywheel handles my 530+ rwhp C6Z just fine. Very streetable with a nice feel, light pedal and I'm very happy with it's performance to date.
hey Craigster have fun at SEMA say hello to Guy and the crew.
You probably need a new clutch with all that power. However, I think you should consider a Tick Adj. Clutch Master Cylinder first. I put a new clutch (textralia z grip) in my LS3 and my pedal still stuck on the floor (not as bad, mind you) but the new clutch didnt fix the issue. The new master cylinder worked as promised.
