Default diff to trans seal??

Is a seal not needed between the trans and diff?? I noticed when I took mine apart there wasent one present. I would assume gear oil is circulated through there from the hole where you can see the pinion in the diff? There was no seal there, and mine was not leaking. Wanted to make sure before I put it all back together. thanks!

There is a rubber o-ring that goes between the diff and trans. Part # is 89060132.

If it wasn't leaking then you were lucky as I accidentally ran without one once and it leaked quite a bit. For the small cost of the part I would definitely recommend putting one back in there before you reassemble everything.

Is that part number for the manual trans? or is it one number for both manual and auto? Also I am talking about the seal around the mating surfaces of the cases of the diff and trans, its an o-ring not a seal?

It is the same for auto and manual trans. It fits into the mating surfaces of between the trans and diff. It looks like this....
