"Whistling" sound from engine bay...

"Whistling" sound from engine bay...

Anyone know what this "whistling" sound is coming from the engine bay? I hear this from older cars every so often...but not sure why I suddenly hear it coming from this 2007 Corvette Z06 with 20k miles.

its your intake system. the ls7 does not have a silencer on the intake system like the LS3

Tis a good thing

The Vararam does a major whister sounds air the r's go up sucking air. Very noticeable. The good news is it assures you got a nice tight air intake & no vacuum leaks. Unless at idle then it may be a leak.

i just replaced my alternator because it had a whine, just like that. It wasn't affecting anything, but I just couldn't stand the sound. It started as quiet and barely noticable, and then it got progressively louder. Got a new alternator on and the car engine bay no longer whistles, I love my car again!
