Rear hatch release push-switch stuck in

Rear hatch release push-switch stuck in
My rear hatch release switch that is just above the rear license plate does not work and seems stuck in/up. There is absolutely no movement from the switch when I push it to open the rear hatch. The switch inside the car and the hatch release on the FOB both work fine.
Has anyone had this problem and had to replace the switch? How do I remove the rear interior panel to get to this switch?

You don't. You take out the taillight next to it on the passenger side. I have seen where you can take the switch apart and clean it and get it to work. Mine is toast too from the dirt. I have one on order from Gene Culley for:
