Anyone installed the killer bee II, with the bee hive on a LS3 Corvette? Hearing that there has been some idle issues. Halltech recomends the super bee, dont know if I want to fork up the extra cash though, any help would be appreciated, thanx.

When I see these kind of posts, and people having problems with surging after the installation of an aftermarket air filter, I also see people post replies that all you need to do is get it tuned to solve your problems. Just remember that GM can void you warranty if you tune your car. Plus who is going to pay for that magical tune? You, or the aftermarket filter manufacturer? Is 10-15 of horsepower(after a tune) worth losing your warranty over? If you check the posts you will also find you can get the same 10-15 horsepower improvements just by tuning, without the aftermarket air filter.

While investigating the products of the various manufacturers, ask them for a written money back guarantee that you will get the wild horsepower increases they claim and that you will be reimbursed for the time/money wasted if you end up with surging problems.

Tuning did not cure my surging. It was not a Halltech though.

However, if I were to get a tune, I'd damn sure want it to breath better first. its been my experience that stock intakes are very restrictive when compared to aftermarket one's.
just my .02 But yes, don't risk your warranty yet. Also, the computer should try to compensate ...

I had the "Killer Bee" intake and had idle problems. It seems to be a case of the MAF being too close to the intake opening. Jim Hall did a wonderful job of follow-up with me on the problem. I went with the "Super Bee" and now have perfect idle! A lot of money and time wasted, but now I am happy!!

p.s. If anyone wants to buy the "Killer Bee" intake bridge, I will let them have it for a VERY low cost, plus shipping.
