Default Transmission Trouble - HELP

I'm new to the Corvette and the auto trans. Coming from a manual 6 spd to the automatic has been an adjustment to say the least. Due to a back injury, I needed to give up the manual In any case, I got my 2008 C6 coupe about 2 months ago. I just noticed that when going freeway speeds, 60-70 mph, and romp on the gas, the trans just slips like crazy and the car goes to redline and wont accelerate at all When the RPM's drop back down and after about 3 seconds, the trans will then engage again and then power to the wheels is restored. I'm pretty pissed as the GTO I had was pristine. Before I take it to the dealer, does anybody have any ideas on this? Are there known issues with this auto trans? (I've not found much relating to my issue). Is there something I should raise with the dealer, well besides the obvious? Any suggestions or advice would be really appeciated as I'm still learning about the Vette. Thanks

BTW, I bought this from a Chevrolet dealer with 16,000 miles and is completely stock back in September.

Not that I know or recall anything about the A6 in the '08, but I do have a few thoughts. First, I hope you know of a very good dealership near you to take it to, should it come to that. Second, you may want to do a search on CF above, center, limit it to A6 or automatic, and further limit it to C6 Gen and Tech. Third, you don't state if it was Chev dealer bought, miles, etc.; that might help a bit. Last, when you bought the car did you do a VIS check (GM proprietary internal system to check for recalls, warranty blocks, warranty work, TSB work done, etc.)?

Hopefully, either you'll find info in CF's history of threads, or someone else with A6 knowledge will chime in. Good luck, welcome and to me, it does not sound normal at all.
