im that far along, i have the studs poped in the rear but the hub is in the way, i guess i should ask "how to remove rear hub"
I suspect the re-installation of new rear studs on a C6 is the same as on a C5. On my C5Z I had to drill a hole in the parking brake backing plate to get enough clearance to put the new stud in. The hole was located in front of the hub, just big enough to stick the stud through the plate and close to the parking brake spring mounting point but it did not damage the spring mounting point.
Yep, the hub needs to come off. I went through this myself. I've done this many times on past cars and when I couldn't figure out how to get the 1st stud all the way out I went to the Service Manual. It said the Hub has to come off and I wasn't comfortable doing it myself. I ended up taking it to the dealership.
Per the service manual the suspension knuckle has to be separated from the upper and lower A arms. Then the hub has to be removed from the suspension knuckle to be able to get the studs out.
