I went to the Chevy dealer and gave him the VIN# and asked for all the service records on my '05 C6Z51. He said he could only tell me what was fixed under warranty. Anything else would be a violation of the Patriot Act. Give me a break! A member said find a supporting vendor who can help. That's like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
So the question is does anyone have a link or another way I can see what was done on this car at GM service centers?
I like a factual answer also.
I understood it's privacy ... original owner (or payer of said repair) would need to authorize release of info.
Then there is the loophole of reading whatever is entered into the GM repair database and who can access it...like the "lot lizard" (slang - joke) for example, so why not me?

We as dealers can only see the work that was performed under warranty. I can not even view customer pay work or any maintenance records that were not performed at our dealership. You would have to find the servicing dealer from the prevoius owner and see if that specific dealer would make copies for you with the name and address blacked out.
