Hey guys, Just a quick question! -- I am getting a Procharger Supercharger -- Should I change the pistons to forged pistons? I heard that I would be on borrowed time with the stock pistons? Thanks again!
depending on how much power you're looking to make you should be fine with the stock pistons up to and past 700 rwhp. at those levels you should be looking to upgrade more than just the pistons. It's all in the tune. I would also recommend that you add meth
Keep the boost conservative and you should be okay. To me 600 rwhp with 7-8 pounds of boost is conservative. If you want to make some serious horsepower then you need to lower the compression ratio so you can really kick up the boost, which requires new pistons. Then order your new forged pistons along with a forged crank and forged rods.
