I went to the strip Saturday. On my 1st run the car wheel hopped, shaking the car pretty good. Since the end of that run the car idles @ +/- 1800 to 2200 rpm, (sometimes it will and sometimes it won't) slowly idle down to 900 rpm which is normal idle speed. It is throwing the P0108 MAP/Baro sensor code. I have visually looked at all vacuum lines & electrical connectors (thinking something shook loose when the car wheel hopped) and haven't found anything yet. I have a hard time believing the MAP sensor suddenly went bad but who knows, does anybody have any suggestions of anything else to check before replacing the sensor? The car has heads, cam & Fast 92 intake. Thanks in advance.
PS: Best run was 12.08 @ 121 MPH with a 60' time of 2.10. car was wheel hopping in 1st & 2nd gear both, I was never able to make a clean run, and yes I continued running it, and even drove it home 60 miles with the high idle.
Try pulling the MAP sensor out and checking the gromet on it. If it's damaged that may be your problem. Then again, the map sensor you have may have just gone bad. Do you have a scanner so that you can check the readings from the MAP sensor? That may help to track down the problem.
