Default heated seats

'07 base,6-speed, LT-1 coupe. I'd like to install heated seats and am wondering how much trouble I'll get into. Are the seat covers and/or seat foam different? Is the car already wired for this and all I will have to do is plug the switches & pads into an existing harness, or do I have to add the harness too? Has anyone already done this and willing to share your experience with me?

Thanks in advance for your help.

No experience but there have been several threads about it. Not easy, not plug and play. The harness is different. Many suggest the best bet is an after market kit which usually gives better options and control.

If you want to search:

Click on "Search", click on "Advanced Search", at the left side of the form in Search by Keyword enter, ""heated seats"", with the double quotes, then in the drop down list under that highlight "Search Titles Only", at the bottom right of the form highlight "C6 Corvette General Discussion".

To get more after you go through those, you could change the keyword search to ""seat heaters"" and/or you could also include C6 Tech/Performance in addition to C6 General Discussion.

Good luck.

My daughter bought a new 08 Saturn Vue and the dealer said they could add the heated lower seat only but not the back. Not sure what the deal was but that's what they said. She passed.

Aftermarket heaters would likely be the easiest and least expensive. A lot of kits out there, pricing starts around 100 bucks. You have to remove the seat covers and run some wiring, but relatively easy.

OK boys...looks like aftermarket is the way to go. I'll start investigating in that direction. Thanks for the input!

The heater elements would be easy in my opinion, its just hooking them up and mounting switches, relays or whatever that would be the issue. The 3LT switches aren't going to work the same for you unless you get creative with some relay wiring.

Maybe all you need is stand-alone cushion:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...nderfully.html

They also have a new version with lumbar support (not yet available at amazon).

My C6 sleeps in the garage until Spring, so I haven't tried it with a heated cushion. Anyway, real men don't need 'em.
