I have a set of I forged classic wheels in chrome. Really wanting a similar set, but in gloss black. No luck selling these, so thinking about changing them to black.
Any advice on the best way to do it ?
Here's a pic.
I would talk to Cal Chrome, they do a lot of wheels, their Fusion coating is 'like' powder coating. Chrome wheels might need to be stripped first, I know they do for rechroming. Also contrary to some opinions powder coating temperatures can weaken alloy wheels.
Thanks for the advice, will do some checking.
asking 2500 for complete setup, Z06 fitment with sensors. rear tires are done. The wheels are beautiful, black just looks better on my VY car.

How do you know this? I have asked this question many times. I felt that this WOULD change the properties of the alloy depending on temps and cooling techniques.
they are 3 piece wheels (it looks like it at least) so you can pull the wheels apart yourself and bring them to the powdercoater. i would do gloss black lip and matte black spokes, would add contrast and look awesome!!
