Whats the difference? Whats the mechanical difference and the h.p. difference? For instance I see a short block LS7 427 and a long block LS7 427. So what's the difference?

So if I buy a 403 short block, then there are more parts needed, more assembly required? But if I buy a long block 403 then everything is already put together? Or no? Is there always more parts needed and more assembly required?
I guess the prices listed are not turnkey, or turnkey after installation?

The short is only the rotating assembly in the block itself.
Long block come in many different forms but the least it should have would be heads, cam, rockers, pushrods, lifters, timing set, oil pump on top of the short block.
We offer it more enhanced than that as well usually with the oil pan attached and include an intake and throttle body.
