I know this question has been answered before, but I can't find it. Is there anything special about changing the C6 battery (2007 Z51 Coupe)? I seem to remember warnings, but can't find them. Your help, please.
No.....only make sure you get the correct terminal orientation and you will have to re-index the windows when done.
If you go to bugmanweb dot com, in the yellow index pane on the left side click on Battery-Optima. There you will find excellent info including an install guide.
Thanx,, guys for your help. I found the indexing info in my manual, and also found that I have purchased a battery with the polarity, backwards. I am resolving that today, and hope to have no further trouble.
I also appreciate the input that I can rotate the battery and install it backwards--that's a big help in case I have trouble getting the correct one. Thanx again, guys.
Isn't this forum great?
I replaced my battery with a new Optima (terminals are correct). I get some internal lights and dorr open dinger, but when I push the start button, all goes dead. Any ideas?

Just remove the negative terminal first and install it last. This is to eliminate any risk of the wrench touching a ground if you try to remove the positive first or install it last.
I had a battery explode big time once because I grounded the positive terminal with a wrench. Acid flew everywhere. Apparently, a spark ignited hydrogen inside the battery.
There is a huge + and - on the top of the battery, how can you put it on backwards. Plus the posts are different sizes, you have to force one on and the other would be loose.
I finally gave up and took it to the Corvette dealer. The service manager jammed it into "Park," and it started up just fine. The shifter was broken, anyway, so no added harm done. Thanks to all who tried to help. Merry Christmas.
