Default Best Heads & Cam setup

Whats the best heads and cam setup for a stock bottom end LS2? N/A, no forced induction here. I'm looking for the most power I can get out of the motor but to keep the stock lower end. Intake and fuel will also help me a lot. Thanks a lot everyone

Grab a cup of coffee and start searching. There is no right or wrong answer, it's not so cut and dry, many vendors produce great power, just set some side aside for your research.

FWIW, I'd go custom cam or G6X3 and Trickflows/AFR V2's with a FAST 102/102 TB

or

Cartek 3X or 4X H/C.

Go with that which has proven results. By that I mean TRACK and DYNO numbers. The Forum is full of great info to make your selection. Just make sure what you really mean by best. Consider Budget, Max HP, Driveability etc to name a few things to think about. You will have many more questions later as you become sure of what is most important .

Best for what? Most Peak or average power?

You can get heads/cam that will make fantastic peak power but it can be a total dog at lower RPM and slower than one that makes less peak power.

Do some research here and on the LS1tech.com forum.

Those are ALL great points and suggestions above.

If I were to do a heads/cam package on my already good running stock internals LS2 car it would be by the guys who were the very first to go 10s (in both the C5 and the C6) with heads and cam only, Cartek Racing.

Dang it, I edited my link to have Cartek in there but I guess it didn't save orginally.

Yea i would really check with a good tuner. Too Big a head and you can lose velocity which could lose you some power. Camshaft depends on your purpose. Personally I have my car for Road Racing and not Drag Racing so my cam choice on my 403 stroker was different than what others might do for a different reason. Also depends on if you want it for a pure purpose car or you drive it every day.

We have several nice heads/cam combos with both ported GM and aftermarket casting heads. Give me a little info. on the car and what you are wanting to do and we can get you setup. We have several combos no matter what your budget may be that will get you where you want to be!

I know Ive got my dad talked into your exact setup for his when he's ready to pull the trigger. He wants to go 10s and I just laugh at him... your setup with an auto and a 3500 stall would be evil.

Call Torq in Miami, Paul and Erik will put together a package that will run just as good if not better than the big name companies out there

If I had an auto in my car I'd shoot for a low low 10. Sometimes I wish I had an auto.

Thank you all for your input it is greatly appreciated!!! I wish I could say I have a Vette lol but this motor is going into my Chevy short bed short cab. Im in long island and cartek is close and I spoke to them yesterday I'll probably be going their route with getting as much work as possible on my 243 heads and a cam to give me the most for what I've got. It's going to be my daily for now. Damn I wish I could afford a Vette lol. Thank you guys again. This forum is a huge help even tho I don't have the car it's for hahaha
