Default Electrical issues P1682 & P0575

After running the car for almost two years..

I faced two weeks back a battery drain issue with my vette...

short story.. after long diagonsis, checking all grounds, wiring, bad relays... and buying new batteries...

it was the ALTERNATOR! I replaced it and the drain gone but new issues came:

1- check engine light due to these codes:
(deleted several times and still popping up)

p0575
cruise control switch signal circuit

p1682
ignition 1 switch circuit 2

-------------------------------------

2- when I press the start button to turn off the car,,, the engine diesling 2 seconds then shut down.. it will not shutdown immediatly and normally!! what do you think? can a bad battery cause this although it's new (but charged twice...and for some test, a mechanic conneced both battery terminals by a wirs which got burned! just to see if the battery is fine) can this make the battery bad?

right now.. car can starts normally everytime..no drain no pain...only above codes and the abnormal engine shutdown!

any clues??!!

What kind of mechanic would do a test like this? Who knows what damage he could have done if the cables were still attached. The proper battery test is a load test. Most auto parts stores can do it for you.
Since the problem was there before he did this it sounds like something else is the problem if the battery is good and all connections are tight.

^^
when i saw him, i was shocked! never take my car to him again.

anyway, the previous problem was with the alternator diodes...
replaced it.. the the problem gone of battery drain.

these new codes and (shut down improperly) is new..

do you suspect the battery or it could be the ignition switch? or maybe something else?

Have you tried clearing the codes and them seeing if they come back?

If you live near Milwaukee WI, I have a bunch of electric test equipment, and will test your system for you. I work for a battery company, so I have the tools.

changed the battery,
changed the spark plugs
changed the fuel

all the same,,,
when I go to turn the car off it turns off... kinda turns back on then completely off.. like it hesitated to turn off!

the next start will cause the SES light to be set...

I don't have any starting issues, the car can start up from the first time...everyday.

This problem will drive me crazy,, any one faced the same!!?

hello i had the same problem on my z06 2007 after i had a bad fuse.
when i replaced that the problem started
here is what i did to fix it there are 3 black small connectors that says 1.0 (they look like fuses )in the fusebox under the hood
the one as closed to the headlights is the one for the voltage problem
i replaced that and the engine check light was off after i started it a few times
the black connector allows the power to go only one way
i hope you have the same problem it cheap to fix
