Default Getting close to the magic

Two weeks ago I ran 11.27 with a 1.58 60' in 2300 DA and the SL correction put that at 10.97.

So this weekend Phoenix is having the coldest weather in the last 4 years and it happens at a time when the track is having a 3-day event. The 1480 track elevation makes it tough to get good DA. Obviously that gets us excited here when the DA gets anything under 1000'.

Unfortunately, the sun failed to appear early and the momentary negative DA was lost before the track was ready.

Today I managed 11.08 @ 125.73 on a spinning 1.63 60' with 506 DA. so I think 10's can be had if the weather holds through Sunday and if I can hook.

One of my racing partners got his tires only Z06 down to 11.14 and also had a 1.60 60', which is fantastic for a nearly stocker.

Another one with a cam only LS2, who has already hit a 10.99 in 1300 DA is also expecting better times on Sunday.

We have our fingers crossed, so stay tuned.

CONGRATS...YOUR ALMOST THERE! I have a question to ask. Your car is listed in the "LIST" as a LS3 but the model year is listed as a 2006. Is this an errer or have you done an engine swap? What model car is it(1 LT-2LT-3LT)? Could not find this info in you AVATAR. Once again..Great run!

I guess Tommy slipped on that one. It really is an '08 and has the 2LT package. I'll post the 11.08 slip or the Sunday slip if I find the magic with a note to get that fixed.

The bride and I are taking a road trip in Feb/Mar to FL and SC. We'll drop by your stomping grounds and say hi as we tour your state. Sounds like you have a nice group of guys there.

I'll be floating around in FL/SC for a couple of weeks and I'd love to make a track event with your group. I'm leaving the DRs and skinnies at home, but I can still play on Invos, just not as fast.

I squeezed out a 11.06 @ 124.72 today. The launch was better, but I shouldn't have bumped the timing that last degree. The track warned me and my Z06 racing partner (he went 11.16 on that run) that they'll boot us tomorrow for lower than 11.35. Were gonna test that on the last pass.

That's so close! Oddly enough, both Theofel and I had an 11.05 directly before our 10 second runs, so you are right there.

Theofel had a great idea, bring a couple of gallons with you and make sure you are super low in gas, drain your washer fluid, etc etc!

Keep us posted.

Missed it again this time. The DA went back up on Sunday, but I still managed another 11.06.

A few of us are planning a Sacramento trip in 2 weeks. Maybe the magic is hiding there. Don't need the super cold air for a negative when the elevation is 1275' lower.

Yes, the seat was out, gas less than 3 gallons, and nearly no w/w fluid. Nothing in the rear cubbies, console, or glovebox either. However, I just couldn't bring myself to doing an enema for that last bit of weight reduction.

Nice. How much higher was the DA on this 11.06 versus the 11.06 from yesterday?

Hey, it takes commitment, gotta go all the way LOL.
But if you're driving all the way to Sacramento to make it happen then I suppose you truly are committed.

Nice run, I made that long drive myself to get my PB when I was still bolt on. Who knows, maybe I'll make the run if the DA looks right!

Tom when you are here in February, if the weather is looking good (and it will be lower than 1200 DA for sure) we can get you set up with some skinnies and DR's if you want. You are welcome to use mine and I'll bring up a jack etc. Of course you assume all responsibility by using them! But they have done a great job for me.

I want to see you get that 10 second slip!
