My rear end is squeaking terribly bad, every time I hit a bump. Even if I stand on the outside and shake the car, I can make it sqeak. Iv'e read it may be the sway bar end links. If so can I completely remove sway bar to resolve problems, or is this a bad idea. Any other thoughts on what it may be? Also, if it sway, do any aftermarket companies make a supperior sway bar?
Going to jack it up in the next couple of days to see if I can resolve issue. Car is no longer under warranty, unless anyone knows if this may be a recall.
Before I bought my 2010 GS, I test drove one at a So. Cal dealership. It did the exact same thing. They located a service bulletin that indicated some of the tack welds securing the fuel tank could fail and cause the squeak. Very annoying. I bought another one. The last I heard, that GS was in thier shop and they were trying to find the squeak.
It can also be the rubber mounts for the sway bar. Remove, clean, grease, reinstall.
To confirm where the problem is - lay down under the car at the rear and have someone push on car to create noise. You should be able to locate if it is muffler, sway bar, gas tank, shock bushing, etc...
If you use aftermarket lowering bolts the bushing on the bottom may be gone. That is why mine squeaked when I hit bumps or when I pushed down on my car from outside. I put wd40 on it and it would go away until it rained. Then I had to put more on. I finally just replaced the lowering bolt and it fixed it.
Mine did the same thing and yes it's very annoying. For me it was only in the rear and it was the poly bushings that were installed when I installed the Z51 sways.
I just got some liquid wrench lithium grease and greased them as best as I could without removing them. Worked for now but I expect it will come back in the future. I would have stuck with regular bushings if I had known the polys were so noisy.
My lowering bolts are intact. It seems to be the sway when I lay under the car. i just found out about the derk fittings in the rear that require greasing so I am goint to try this.
i just did the lowering bolts in the rear of mine. 3 weeks later i started hearing sqeaks on bumps. first thing i looked at was to see if pads were still on bolts they were. so i greased the endlinks stop the noise. its only been a week but hasnt come back yet,
