I've used the Edelbrocks on various vehicles including the C6. They work well and give a good ride, for a year, then they are done. These have all been on DDs.

I currently use the Pfadt adjustables on the C6 and have used QA1 on other vehicles with excellent results.

Sorry, guys, that 125 shipped was for Spin only..
And now they're mine. Thanks Carl. Although you could have called me Spinmonster 2 weeks ago at the track.

I love my Pfadt sport adjustable shocks. For daily driving I have them set on 1 front and 2 rear. Cranked up they can be just as firm or firmer than the Z51 but they are so smooth and upside down to reduce unsprung weight.

I am really considering the Pfadt coilover adjustables. Do they stop the hopping in corners when the pavement is rough?

running MT ET streets on the street precludes performance handling and as such I dont want or need a stiff ride. In fact the softer the shocks in the rear the better my car hooks.

I'll look for a used set of Z06's to see if they're enough.

Anyone want to sell a used set with around 5k miles on them? (not new thanks). Donations are apreciated and I will reciprocate in kind if you need tech help with anything.

That's why the adjustables, suits tracks with different levels of grip. They go pillow soft at 1 and rock hard at 16.

I have a 681whp c6, 345-35-18 m/t's, Hotchkis roll bars. Mostly spirited street driving, some strip!
I want to just change out the shocks in order to:

1) reduce wheel hop
2) cornering ability
3) Increase traction off the line on the street & strip

Your shocks are adjustable I see. 1 - 16, which setting (if any) would be close to the stock C6 shocks performance ? Is the softest setting still an improvement over the stock c6 shocks & why?

Another vote for Koni FSDs. Had them on my 2005 C6 and they were perfect - great ride and handling too. Now I have F55 on my 2008 and wish that I had Koni FSDs.

Details?
Most (but not all) people like F55.

I replaced my Z51 shocks with base model shocks, it seems like very little effect on handling but a significant improvement in ride over the frost heaves and mis-matched expansion joints of Illinois. For "ordinary" broken pavement, still an improvement but not as much. That lowered the car by 5/16" in front and 4/16" in back, I adjusted it up 3 turns on the bolts and that's slightly higher than factory but still lower than the Service Manual specs for a 2009.

I had Z51 sway bars and Koni FSD shocks on 2005 C6 - I liked the ride and the handling. Now I have Z51 sway bars and F55 on 2008 C6 and the ride is much harsher even in touring mode. I sold my 2005 to a friend so I took the 05 for a drive last week (I had sold it about 1.5 yrs ago) and did not realize how much better the 05 ride was. Handling is probably similar between the two cars. But I am still running the GY RF's on the 08 - those will get changed to Michelin PS2's this week, so I will check in and update again after the new tires are installed.

What tires did you have on the '05?
Anything else that might effect the ride?

It seems unusual that F55 in Tour would ride harder than FSD's. But I haven't owned either of those combinations.

There was a thread about F55 cars being shipped with blocks that prevent the car from bouncing on the shocks while in transit, and then the dealer forgets to remove the blocks...

OK, I now have Michelin PS2's on my 08 C6 with F55. I will still say that the ride is more compliant with the Koni FSD shocks versus the F55 in Touring mode. Ride is noticably stiffer in Sport mode on the F55. Handling is similar between F55 sport mode and Koni FSD's.

I guess everyone's butt is calibrated differently.

I have not owned an F55 car, or FSD shocks; most people say that putting FSD's in a Z51 car improves the ride but one member here did a careful before & after comparison on his Z51, he said the FSD's rode just as hard are the original Z51 shocks.

Go figure...
