Default Harmonic Balancer

I want to start off saying I have read all kinds of threads and post. I have also called GM which was a little help. Ok here this goes..

On Christmas my harmonic balancer started going crazy with all kinds of screeching with the belts etc. Well I had my extended warranty send a truck over to my house to haul the car to the local dealership. Well after a few days I gave them a call to see what the status was with my car and they said the parts were on the way so I thought ok. Well they ended up calling someone else and getting permission to swap my battery for 200$ "what a joke". Well after I found that out I asked them to take it out because I didn't authorize that and I wanted an optima. Well they wouldn't and charged me the 200$ anyways. A week goes by and I give them another call to find out their fixing a recall which I was aware of but still had not given them permission to do. So after two weeks of not having my car I finally go up there and what do you know its ready and its been sitting there for two days ready to go and I received no phone call or returns to my calls. So today was the first day I got to drive my car since I received it back. Well guess what.. the retards sure didn't fix a damn thing and just replaced my belts and now its worse than before. They are denying even touching my recall when its on the receipt and charged me for jack ****. So after all that rant "sorry" PLEASE someone give me some advice. Do I have them refund my extended warranty check and send it to another dealer or what?

I think its time to find another dealer.
Also, I would be in service Managers office trying to find out what really happened.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't have left the dealership with that battery in my car if I didn't authorize the purchase of it.

If they accepted money for the repair from your warranty company but did not do the repair, report this fraud to the warranty company.

There is a Chevy service tech on here name Geoff I think, he helped me get a new top when the top recall came out last year. If I find his contact info I will send you a PM.

Totally understand your frustration!

Who is your extended warranty with? I just had my car in a while back for the balancer problem and they replaced that as well as replaced several other things I didn't even know were problems. Sounds like you need to find a better dealer to work with.

Well guys, it has done it again.. not once or twice but THREE times since I had it there the first time. Now they are going to replace my entire motor and I'm trading it in for a z06. I seriously have never had so many problems with a dealership before. They have towed it 4 times now and have had to fix my alignment twice because of the towing and bent one of my wheels. I can honestly say I will never go to this dealer again. Once I get my car traded in I will let everyone know what dealer it is so you can stay CLEAR of them! All I can do is laugh now.
