Default XM Radio Crashed

I was on a trip the other day and while driving I was listening to the XM radio then all of a sudden it went dead. I hit the band button went to AM, FM, then CD. All played without a problems. Then it would not go to XM at all. So, I talked to my service manager and he siad it sound like a xm converter box under the console had gone bad. There was bullinton on this per him. Has any one had this problem before and was the fix an easy fix. I hate things getting torn up to fix something simple. Any feed back appreciated.T

I agree. You could also try pulling whatever fuse for the XM module and see if it reboots.

1st and easiest thing to check is the connector at the XM Tuner.

Under the carpet behind the drivers seat.

If it's loose, the head unit won't know the tuner's there and will not display XM1 or XM2 bands.

Thanks, I'll look under the seat. It was there, then it disappeared.

The XM module is not under the seat. It is above the driver's side rear wheel.

This link will help you find it.

This happens to me in the Hummer every once in a while. I normally disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes and it comes back.

Default XM Follow Up

Just wanted to let you guys know I appreciate all the help you gave me trying to figure out what was wrong with my XM radio. I ended up carrying it to the Dealer. They found out that the reciever had gone bad. They are replacing the reciever box. This one is somewhere around the back side of the radio. I should be able to pick my baby up tomorrow. Tks again
